“This callous behavior allegedly led to the deaths of three people. As alleged, each incident was calculated: Tabitha Bundrick knowingly provided fentanyl-laced drugs to incapacitate her victims so she could steal their personal belongings. As a result of our long-term investigation, she is now facing significant charges,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I want to be very clear to those who think they can get away with drugging and robbing unsuspecting victims: working with our law enforcement partners, we will uncover and prosecute this conduct.”

“After a year of abuse, Ernest Wright fatally strangled his girlfriend Kayla Estevez in a horrific act of intimate-partner violence,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I extend my deepest condolences to Kayla’s loved ones who spoke at today’s sentencing and thank the prosecutors who tried this case. “As alleged, Desean Maryat placed an imitation pipe bomb that forced police to clear the Crossroads of the World for more than an hour on a busy Monday morning,” said District Attorney Bragg. “He specifically chose to target the door of the NYPD’s Times Square substation, grinding officers’ movements to a halt. Thankfully, the NYPD’s Bomb Squad responded and moved efficiently to ensure everyone’s safety and allow visitors and commuters alike to return to Times Square.”

“These officers were just trying to do their jobs when they were allegedly violently assaulted by this individual,” said District Attorney Bragg. “We do not have tolerance for those who attack members of law enforcement, and I hope the injured officers can make full recoveries.”

“A café employee was going about his workday when Wagner Louis entered the Midtown establishment and allegedly slashed the worker, almost killing him,” said District Attorney Bragg. “This broad daylight attack is horrifying, and I hope the victim continues to heal from this assault. We do not tolerate threats to the safety of workers in Manhattan and will prosecute those who cause hard-working New Yorkers harm.”
