“As alleged, Barshon Jamison and James Lattimore killed a man in a brazen act of gun violence in the middle of a crowded, public NYCHA development courtyard,” said District Attorney Bragg. “This horrific shooting tragically claimed Hamid Thomas’ life – a lifelong New Yorker – and significantly injured an innocent bystander who was trying to escape the gunfire. My thoughts are with Mr. Thomas’ family and loved ones as they navigate this difficult time and I wish the victim caught in the crossfire a speedy recovery.”

“We have no tolerance for anyone who threatens or puts members of law enforcement in harm’s way. The defendant’s actions against the NYPD are unacceptable and we will continue to pursue accountability in this matter. I want to thank the NYPD and our law enforcement partners in Georgia for an outstanding and collaborative investigation that has led to significant charges both states,” said District Attorney Bragg. 

“As alleged, Donald Ziebenhood escalated his threatening conduct towards his husband in multiple acts of intimate partner violence over the course of a year. “Kristie Miro committed a brutal and deadly act of family violence that took her aunt’s life,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Losing any loved one to violence is incredibly painful, and unimaginable at the hands of another family member. I hope this measure of accountability can bring some comfort to Ms. Nieves’ loved ones, who continue to endure the effects of this senseless tragedy.”
