“This was a brutal and shocking murder of the defendant’s own mother, and while nothing can undo this tragedy, today’s guilty plea represents an important step towards justice. My thoughts are with those who continue to mourn Ms. Chin’s loss,” said District Attorney Bragg.

“Pamela Buchbinder meticulously planned and plotted to kill Dr. Michael Weiss, enlisting the aid of her 19-year-old cousin Jacob Nolan. This brutal attack left Dr. Weiss, the father of her child, injured with multiple stab wounds to his body and traumatized by the brutal attack carried out by Nolan. Today, she is being held accountable for her actions,” said District Attorney Bragg.

“This was a violent and senseless attack that caused the victim serious injuries,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The subway helps keep New York City moving, and we will continue to use all tools at our disposal to keep straphangers safe.”

“Leonilda Nuez Balbuena’s life ended in a shocking and brutal crime. No family should ever have to experience the pain caused by this type of tragedy, and we are committed to ensuring accountability,” said District Attorney Bragg.
