“We see this sad and tragic combination far too often — the intersection of gun violence and gun trafficking and hate and extremism,” Alvin L. Bragg, Manhattan’s district attorney, said at a news conference Tuesday.
“As alleged, Shaquan Cummings slashed an 11-year-old child walking with her mother in the back of the head minutes after punching a woman in the face. New Yorkers deserve to feel safe when walking through Manhattan and those who jeopardize their safety will be held accountable,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope both victims continue to heal from these alleged assaults.”
