NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A 28-year-old man is being charged with attempted murder in connection with pushing an off-duty NYPD police officer in the path of an oncoming subway train, according to District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
“As alleged, Aaron Walker assaulted a complete stranger and shoved him onto the subway tracks in a callous and frightening attack,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I am thankful this off-duty officer was returned to safety with the help of a Good Samaritan. All New Yorkers deserve to be safe in our subway system, and those who commit this type of horrific violence will be prosecuted.”
“As alleged, Carmen Lopez’s life was brutally taken by her ex-boyfriend in a horrific act of intimate-partner violence,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Ambushed after a night out with friends, Ms. Lopez was left to die alone on the floor in her own apartment building. My heart is with Ms. Lopez’s loved ones as they grieve her immense loss.
A man is accused of attacking two children near the High Line on Oct. 15, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
“As alleged, Ramny Lopez assaulted two innocent children in an unprovoked, broad-daylight attack. One of these children was just two years old and sitting in a stroller as her family explored New York City while on vacation,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Parents shouldn’t have to fear for the safety of their children when walking through Manhattan. We will continue to collaborate with our law enforcement partners to make our streets safe for tourists and residents of all ages.”
