D.A. Bragg Announces Guilty Pleas For Fatal Shooting Of Timothy Parker In East Harlem

“Shaun McClam and Luis Roman have been held accountable for carrying out a coordinated and deadly act of violence that tragically cut short Timothy Parker’s life,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Today’s guilty pleas and promised prison sentences send a clear message that it is never acceptable to use illegal firearms to commit harm. Furthermore, NYCHA residents deserve to live without being terrorized by gun violence and criminal conduct, and we will continue to coordinate with law enforcement and local leaders to keep our communities safe.” 

D.A. Bragg Announces Guilty Plea Of Waldemar Alverio For Tompkins Square Park Shootings

“Waldemar Alverio was held accountable for committing two broad-daylight shootings in Tompkins Square Park, just days apart,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These senseless and reckless shootings left two victims significantly injured and put the safety of many New Yorkers at risk. Combatting gun violence is crucial to achieving lasting public safety and we will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to remove illegal firearms off our city’s streets and drive down shootings.”

“A 14-year-old child lost his life due to this horrific act of gun violence,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Mr. Streeter was beloved not only by his family, but his entire community. He had a bright future ahead of him that was tragically taken away and his loved ones are continuing to grieve his loss. There is nothing we can do to undo the pain they are experiencing, but I hope this lengthy prison sentence allows them to move forward and end this difficult chapter.” 

D.A. Bragg Announces Murder Indictment Of Luigi Mangione

“We allege that Luigi Mangione carried out the brazen, targeted and fatal shooting of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown Manhattan. This type of premeditated, targeted gun violence cannot and will not be tolerated, and my office has been working day in and day out to bring the defendant to justice” said District Attorney Bragg. “I want to extend my heartfelt prayers to Mr. Thompson’s loved ones as they continue to grieve. This ongoing investigation is the product of an incredible partnership at all levels with the NYPD, and I want to thank Commissioner Tisch and the prosecutors and detectives who worked collaboratively to apprehend Mr. Mangione. He is now charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with three counts of murder and faces a maximum penalty of life in prison without parole.”
