“A young woman was walking into her SoHo apartment building when Ellow Williams followed her inside, strangled her until she appeared to lose consciousness, and raped her. “This defendant horrifically abused a defenseless, 81-year-old woman, which was proven through the survivor’s honest and unwavering testimony at trial. Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg, Jr., today announced the trial conviction of HARVEY WEINSTEIN for sexually assaulting Miriam Haley in 2006. On June 11, 2025, a New York State Supreme Court jury found WEINSTEIN guilty of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree. A mistrial was declared pertaining to the count of Rape in the Third Degree; that matter remains open and pending. WEINSTEIN was acquitted of a third alleged sex assault.
