“Willie Gomez inflicted serious harm on the victims of his unprovoked attack. No New Yorker should fear for their safety while using public transportation, and today’s sentencing once against demonstrates that we will not accept violence against straphangers,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I know that the victims are still suffering from the impact of their injuries and hope that they can continue to recover and find some measure of peace in today’s sentencing.” 

“Blake Norton needlessly resorted to violence when he allegedly assaulted a subway rider dozens of times,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The alleged acts reflect the serious and excessive nature of the assault, as the victim laid helplessly on the ground. Our prosecutors are working diligently to hold accountable anyone who threatens the safety of subway riders.”  

“A woman’s life was in serious danger when Victor Lopez decided to attack her in a subway station – with a train moments away,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Thankfully, the woman was able to catch her balance, avoid injury and survive this frightening attack. These attacks tear at public safety and the sentence imposed today reflects that we take all acts of violence in our transit system seriously.”  

“Samuel Junker now stands indicted for seriously injuring a woman who he allegedly trailed to a subway platform and pushed onto the tracks,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These types of attacks can be terrifying to experience, but we want New Yorkers to know that we will seek accountability for anyone who commits acts of violence in our subway system. I wish the victim a speedy recovery.”
