“As alleged, Edward Asencio neglected and isolated his 84-year-old mother before killing her in their shared apartment. The defendant’s alleged attack on his own mother, who relied on him for care, is abhorrent,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Older New Yorkers deserve quality care, and those who abuse the people in their care will be held accountable. “As alleged, Marvin White assaulted a 77-year-old woman who was walking to Urgent Care in an unprovoked attack, before assaulting the two police officers who responded to her cries for help,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Members of the NYPD risk their safety every day to protect New Yorkers, and I thank them for their partnership in keeping Manhattan safe. I hope the three victims continue to heal from their injuries.” 

“As alleged, Oluwanifemi Aborisade assaulted a vulnerable, 95-year-old woman who depended on her for care,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope the victim continues to heal from this horrific assault. “As alleged, Joshua Cantero slashed a 65-year-old man multiple times while he was waiting to pick up his wife from work,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Assaults on older adults are reprehensible, and those who commit these acts of violence in Manhattan will be held accountable. I hope the victim continues to heal from this assault.” 

“As alleged, Chontrell Wrenick committed an alarming and dangerous attack that jeopardized the safety of his own cousin,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The explosive device posed a significant threat to the lives of innocent Manhattanites, and I am grateful law enforcement was able to intervene and safely recover the device. I wish the victim a speedy recovery.”
