“Today, Rasheed Osundairo was held accountable for brutally attacking two strangers at heavily trafficked locations in our city,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Furthermore, the attacks left both men with serious and permanent physical injuries, which they still endure today. We will continue to treat assaults with the seriousness they deserve and hold people accountable when they harm fellow New Yorkers.”  

“Cha’la Jamison ferociously attacked and seriously injured a New Yorker who was just doing his job,” said District Attorney Bragg. “This attack has significantly impacted the victim, who continues to suffer physical pain and emotional trauma, and has been unable to work. I hope this sentence can offer some peace and comfort, despite the serious harm that occurred. I thank our prosecutors for working diligently to secure accountability in this case.” 

“The assault on our police officers in Times Square outraged and sickened me. We have absolutely no tolerance for this despicable behavior. Our joint investigation with the NYPD helped us determine the alleged roles of new individuals involved, including some who are charged with having committed the most violent conduct and have not yet been apprehended. “Luis Peroza has been held accountable for viciously assaulting three individuals in just one day,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Among those attacked was the beloved owner of Ray’s Candy Store, who despite the attack, has shown great courage and resilience by returning to work and continuing to spread joy – as he has for decades. I hope that this sentencing can bring a sense of justice and relief for each of the victims.”
