“As alleged, Michael Howell attacked three New Yorkers with glass bottles as they were just trying to go about their regular evening,” said District Attorney Bragg. “No one should have to experience this type of violence in a Manhattan grocery store or subway station, and I hope the victims fully recover from their injuries.” 

“Today Pedro Vincent-Barcia finally faced accountability for his violent and gruesome stabbing of his girlfriend inside a store in East Harlem,” said District Attorney Bragg. “What happened to Bernice Rosado is extremely tragic, but I hope this sentence brings her loved ones a sense of justice to help them on their journey towards healing.”  

“While Ronald Massaro decided to remain peaceful by walking away after an argument, Lawrence Downey resorted to violence, following and killing Mr. Massaro on a midtown sidewalk,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Thanks to the hard work of our prosecutors, Downey has been held accountable for this attack. I hope this resolution offers some comfort to Mr. Massaro’s loved ones, who continue to grieve him.”

“Maria Kelly’s life was taken too soon when her husband viciously pummeled her in the head with a crowbar while on her way to work, leaving her for dead on the street,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Now, Julio Aponte is facing significant accountability for this chilling and horrific attack. I hope that this sentence brings Ms. Kelly’s family, friends and loved ones a sense of relief, comfort and justice.”

“Lauren Pazienza aggressively shoved Barbara Gustern to the ground and walked away as the beloved New Yorker lay there bleeding. Today’s plea holds Pazienza accountable for her deadly actions,” said District Attorney Bragg. “We continue to mourn the loss of Barbara Gustern, a talented musical theater performer and vocal coach who touched so many in New York City and beyond.”
