“A café employee was going about his workday when Wagner Louis entered the Midtown establishment and allegedly slashed the worker, almost killing him,” said District Attorney Bragg. “This broad daylight attack is horrifying, and I hope the victim continues to heal from this assault. We do not tolerate threats to the safety of workers in Manhattan and will prosecute those who cause hard-working New Yorkers harm.”

“As alleged, Lewis Reynolds attacked a 94-year-old man without provocation as he simply shopped in an Apple Store. No older adult should face a terrifying act of violence like this in New York City,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I want New Yorkers to know that we are working with our law enforcement partners to keep Manhattan safe. I hope the victim continues to heal from this horrifying assault.” 

“Court officers have the incredibly challenging job of keeping everyone in our courthouses safe, including judges, staff, attorneys, victims, witnesses, the public, and those facing criminal charges. From staffing the main entrances to dozens of individual court parts, they are a universal presence and keep our system moving. We have absolutely no tolerance for any attack on their safety, and the significant charges in this indictment reflect the seriousness with which we are treating this matter,” said District Attorney Bragg.

“Raquan El allegedly attacked a vulnerable New Yorker—an unsuspecting pregnant woman who was a complete stranger to him—in a brutal act of violence with a weapon,” said District Attorney Bragg. “We will not tolerate New Yorkers being assaulted. I wish the victim a speedy recovery.”
