Impact of New York State Discovery Laws on Victims

In 2019, the legislature made necessary reforms to the New York State Discovery Laws. While significant reforms were made, there have been unintended consequences resulting in a 48% increase in the rate of case dismissals citywide including cases of domestic and sexual violence.
