“Samuel Junker has been held accountable for shoving an innocent woman – a wife and mother – onto the tracks of a Lower Manhattan subway station in a brutal, unprovoked attack,” said District Attorney Bragg. “We will continue to treat acts of violence committed throughout our subway system with the seriousness they deserve, and I thank our prosecutors for their hard work.”
“Patrick Robles violently attempted to rape a young woman on the subway as she did everything she could to escape the attack,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I thank the survivor for her bravery throughout this prosecution and during today’s sentencing.”
“Geovalny Alcantara allegedly assaulted a complete stranger in an unprovoked attack on a Manhattan subway that could have turned deadly,” said District Attorney Bragg. “The transit system is the lifeblood of the City, and we take acts of violence committed underground very seriously. Thankfully the victim received treatment for his significant injuries, and I hope he makes a full recovery.”
“As alleged, Brandon Balfour and Carlos Rivera committed separate, vicious attacks underground using weapons,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These horrifying acts of violence significantly injured two women, including one who needed life-saving surgery. Safety in our subways is paramount, and we will hold accountable those who bring weapons into our transit system and harm New Yorkers. I wish both victims full and speedy recoveries.”
“As alleged, Victor Solis brutally attacked a man who was just trying to make his way home after a day of hard work,” said District Attorney Bragg. “This attack caused significant, life-threatening injuries that were thankfully nonfatal. I wish the victim a full and swift recovery, and I am grateful to the New Yorkers whose selfless actions potentially saved this victim’s life and ensured an arrest was made.”
