“Anya Johnston callously took the life of her neighbor Susan Trott, a lifelong New Yorker with a kind-hearted, generous spirit,” said District Attorney Bragg. “To Ms. Trott’s family and loved ones, Johnston robbed them of a friend, mentor and business partner. Since her loss, they have experienced overwhelming emotional pain, and I hope today’s sentence can offer them a sense of justice knowing Johnston has been held accountable.”  

“Kensly Alston and Halley Tejada allegedly murdered Nadia Vitels in her own apartment while she was moving in to start a new chapter of her life. I send my deepest condolences to her friends and family as they continue to mourn her loss,” said District Attorney Bragg. “My Office will secure justice for Nadia Vitels.”

“Attacking police officers is unequivocally intolerable and unacceptable. Officers at the scene of this incident were already dealing with a chaotic situation where thousands were arrested, and then had to experience the despicable actions by this defendant. I thank the members of the NYPD who do so much to keep New Yorkers safe, and we will continue to pursue accountability against those who attempt to harm our officers in uniform,” said District Attorney Bragg.  

“As alleged, Anthony Jordan viciously stabbed his longtime friend after showing up unannounced and with a weapon,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Although the investigation remains ongoing as to why Mr. Smith’s life was tragically taken, we will work diligently and tirelessly to ensure accountability in this case. My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim as they continue grieving such an insurmountable loss.”  

“With this indictment, we are one step closer to securing justice for Denisse Oleas-Arancibia,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Our professional, dedicated prosecutors and investigators will continue to build the strongest possible case, and we will be prepared to prosecute Raad Almansoori for these horrific allegations when he is returned to New York. My heart is with the family and loved ones of Ms. Oleas-Arancibia during this difficult time as they continue to mourn their loss, as well as the victims of Almansoori’s alleged crimes in Maricopa County.”
