“Alayna Hardy was a young woman who was beloved by her friends and family. Her life was tragically cut short by this chilling and brutal murder by her ex-boyfriend. No family should ever have to experience such a terrible loss and my thoughts are with those who continue to mourn Ms. Hardy. I hope this conviction and sentence sends a clear message that we will always pursue full accountability for anyone who commits this type of horrific violence,” said District Attorney Bragg. 

“As alleged, after waiting for hours outside of Shirley Rodriguez’s home, Tyquane Jemmott sprung from behind a car the moment she stepped outside and took her life in a flurry of stab wounds,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Shirley Rodriguez was beloved by her family, including her mother, father, and sister who so tragically had to hear this young woman’s final words as she succumbed to her injuries. My thoughts are with them as they continue to grieve her loss.” 

“As alleged, Shaquan Cummings slashed an 11-year-old child walking with her mother in the back of the head minutes after punching a woman in the face. New Yorkers deserve to feel safe when walking through Manhattan and those who jeopardize their safety will be held accountable,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope both victims continue to heal from these alleged assaults.” 

“Clifton Williams allegedly assaulted two men who were walking on Third Avenue within the span of ten-minutes. No person should fear for their safety when walking through Manhattan and those who threaten or harm pedestrians will be held accountable,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I hope the victims continue to heal from these unprovoked attacks.”
