“Christian Millet allegedly committed a shocking and brutal murder, and my thoughts are with Mr. Echevarria’s loved ones,” said District Attorney Bragg. “I want to thank our prosecutors and the NYPD detectives who worked quickly and diligently to connect the facts and evidence in this case. I want New Yorkers to know that we have the deep expertise to bring even the most challenging cases.”
“As alleged, this was a brutal attack against a completely defenseless and helpless victim, and I hope he recovers quickly from his injuries,” said District Attorney Bragg.
“Michael Howell will now serve a prison sentence for his attacks on three New Yorkers with glass bottles,” said District Attorney Bragg. “These were scary, random assaults that occurred at a busy time of evening, and we will not tolerate these types of violent attacks on Manhattanites. I know many of the victims are still living with the trauma of the attacks and I hope this sentencing can provide them a measure of closure.”
“Jayqwan Hamilton, Robert Demaio and Jacob Barroso took advantage of people who were just trying to enjoy Manhattan’s vibrant nightlife. These defendants were motivated by greed, and their callous behavior left two young men dead. I know the families who lost their loved ones are still suffering from so much pain, and I hope this verdict can provide at least some measure of comfort,” said District Attorney Bragg.
“Johnette Booker has now been found guilty for causing the death of her younger cousin. She physically and emotionally tortured her cousin with special needs, in what can only be described as absolutely shocking and horrific behavior. Instead of providing him with love and care when she assumed the role of caregiver by taking him into her home for the summer, she preyed on him, and her actions and omissions caused his tragic death. No child should ever be treated this way, and I thank our prosecutors for their hard work to deliver accountability in this case,” said District Attorney Bragg.
